KAJSA WILLNER

Kajsa Willner (Swedish, b. 1982) is an industrial designer based in Malmö, SWE.

Willner’s work is driven by a strong interest in materials, craft techniques and interdisciplinary collaborations.

Kajsa runs a research-based and experimental studio practice where her self-initiated projects are often inspired by the beauty of science in nature. She is questioning current systems and the status quo by focusing on using design as a tool to find methods that can encourage new perspectives and future progress that go beyond the product.

Renowned for her interdisciplinary artistry, Willner seamlessly merges research-based methodologies with experimental design, resulting in objects with a narrative that challenge the boundaries of convention. Willner’s work at large is translated into sculptures, materials, installations and communicative exhibitions that merge craft, science and nature.

She has received a bachelor degree in furniture design from Rome and Milan and worked in the Netherlands before moving back home to Sweden to found her own studio in 2013.

Kajsa has been the recipient of awards and commissions and has exhibited her work nationally as well as internationally.
